BIO
Just as a lot of other
performers, Tricia got her start singing in church. She
started out singing harmony in a trio called the “Full
Gospel Trio” and then the name was changed to the “ Eternal
Hope Singers”. She taught herself how to play piano in her
early teens.
After getting married at the
tender age of 17, music was put on the back burner for many
years to raise two sons. Then, in 1994, a friend bought her
a karaoke machine for her birthday and after hearing her
sing, convinced her to audition for the Burleson Jamboree.
Once she appeared on that show, there was no turning back!
Another dream came true for
Tricia when she finally got to record some of her original
material with KMA Records in Madison, Tennessee in November
2004. The CD was released in March 2005. She prefers
traditional country and her voice has the soulful quality
that is perfect for it.
Tricia has been performing
professionally for 11 years. She has performed at local
Opry’s including Johnnie High’s Music Revue in Arlington,
the Grapevine Opry, Burleson Jamboree, Stephenville Opry,
Country Love Theater in Granbury, Wylie Opry and the
Mesquite Opry. She was named Female Entertainer of the Year
at the Country Love Theatre in Granbury in 1997 and also
performed back-up vocals there for a year. She performed
monthly (except winter) in Thackerville, Oklahoma at the Red
River R.V. Resort for 8 years. She was an entertainer for
four consecutive years at the Susan G. Komen “Race for the
Cure” breast cancer race in Sundance Square, downtown Fort
Worth. She also entertained for the Fort Worth Fire
Department’s Awards Banquet for two years. As a matter of
fact, she shared the stage one year at the Fire Department’s
Awards Banquet with LeAnn Rimes, and since LeAnn sang first,
Tricia likes to jokingly tell people that LeAnn opened for
her! She has performed at local VFW’s, American Legions,
Chaser’s Lounge (Dallas), The Turning Point (Arlington),
Moose Lodge (Hurst), Oktoberfest, Mayfest, the Fort Worth
Historical Society in the Stockyards, and other local
venues. She placed 27th out of 120 contestants in
a talent contest in Nashville, Tennessee in 1995. She was
keyboardist and back-up vocalist at the Stockyard’s Opry in
Fort Worth, Texas in 2002 and also for the Denton Opry
briefly in 2005. She is currently vocalist and keyboardist
part-time with the Texas Rose Band and also has a duet
called SugarTime that performs all genres of music (except
RAP!).
Tricia received the award
for “Most Promising Female Vocalist” at the Tennessee
Country Music Alliance (TCMA) Awards Show in March 2005 in
Nashville, Tennessee. She received the “Rising Star” award
at the Texas River Music Awards Show in August 2005 in
Wichita Falls, Texas and also won their songwriting contest.
On April 16, 2006, she received “Female Vocalist of the
Year” in the Golden Elite Division at the TCMA award show in
Nashville, TN.
